Abstract Gallery
My work explores the interplay between texture, material, and memory. I create abstracts that range from richly layered fibre pieces, woven threads, tangled fabrics, stitched lines, and soft fringes to painted and stitched representations of natural forms: pods, seeds, petals, stems, leaves, and flowers. My practice is informed by a variety of influences, notably Islamic art, the Impressionists, and Klimt.
Organic shapes in my work are set against frayed edges, uneven lines, varied textures, and distressed fabrics, reflecting the passage of time. Yet within this wear and imperfection, there is renewal: fabrics and threads are stitched, layered, and reworked, creating harmony from remnants, scraps, and memories.
By weaving together fragments of material, light, colour, and emotion, I aim to reveal a quiet richness within the fragile – a subtle celebration of resilience, impermanence, and transformation.
