ABOUT ANITA

The sea, the coastline and boats have always been a major source of inspiration for me. There’s something profoundly powerful about the wild, ever-changing and free nature of the sea and shore—something that deeply resonates with my art.

My style blends spontaneous, gestural, painterly brushstrokes with free-form stitching, creating rich textures and adding decorative embellishment.

After the pandemic, I began creating stitched paintings, combining hand stitching, mark-making and free-motion embroidery.

It felt like coming home. After a lifetime of exploring different artistic genres, I had finally discovered the medium I wanted to explore indefinitely.

I spend my days walking along the beach, collecting driftwood and shells, as well as sailing, and cycling the coastline. These simple, joyful moments constantly spark new ideas and feed my creative processes.
